2nd Birthday Gift Ideas

I can’t hardly believe it but Sullivan's 2nd birthday is coming up soon! I've already started rounding up some ideas and thought I'd share here too. Because his birthday is so close to Christmas, I've had to really plan ahead and figure out what we're going to get him because I want his birthday to be special but also not go overboard with Christmas so close.

Friday Favorites- Birthday Parties

FRI-YAY! SO good to see you again!
I thought since I've been in the middle of birthday party planning, I would share my FAVORITE birthday party themes we've done so far by linking up with Andrea from Momfessionals

Let it Go, Let it Go, Let it GOOOOOO

Despite being pretty sick of Frozen at this point, I loved this party theme!

*PS- can we all just look at that precious 4 year old who is going to turn SIX this Summer?!

Oh Saideybug. You have a special place in my heart and will forever be my little lady. I can't believe she is going to be turning three soon. (insert sobbing emoji) Literally, I can't stop and think about the fact that she is going to be three for too long or I will be reduced to a blubbering mess.

Ok... sorry, moving on....

Her 2nd birthday party was so much fun to plan but the best part?! That cake!

ICE CREAM SUNDAE BAR
From an early age, Sophia had a sweet tooth. So, it was only appropriate that for her second birthday, we had an ice cream theme.

Unfortunately, I was not actively blogging at the time but I do have these pics to share...

And I don't have any pictures of the actual ice cream sundae bar.. bummer. But just imagine, ice cream and all the toppings! A super fun (and yummy) theme!

Out of all the parties we've thrown, this one MIGHT be my MOST favorite.

So, there you have it- some birthday inspiration!

Check out my birthday board on Pinterest for more inspiration! I am currently planning a "Garden Party" for Saidey's 3rd birthday party and a flamingo pool party for Sophia's sixth.

Enjoy the weekend!

Weekend Recap- Bruno Mar's Lazy Song Edition

Good morning friends! I hope you all had a great weekend! As usual, it flew by and we're headed into another week!

This weekend was pretty low key and as the title indicates- was a pretty lazy one! Let's just say Sunday consisted of coffee, pajamas and board games. My kinda day! :)

On Friday, we had our usual Friday night pizza and movie night. And I guess I was having so much fun, I didn't take ANY pictures!

On Saturday, we ran some errands including ordering Sophia's birthday cake. We decided to take the easy route and order one instead of trying to make one ourselves. Since we are doing her party at a park, we decided to TRY to keep it low key. I'm sure that somehow I will make things more difficult than they need to be by trying to incorporate all sorts of things. :) Aaaand.. we need to figure out how this cake will last in the heat- :/. Or if we need to keep it in the car or something and bring it out right before it's time for cake.

Sophia's birthday cake, except for a 1, there will be a FIVE! GAH!

Sophia and I then met my friend and her son for lunch and went to Inside Out. I can't say enough great things about this movie. As a person in the mental health field this was RIGHT up my alley. Sophia loved it but the concept was generally over her head. It was still a great movie and I'm sure we'll see it again.

At Inside Out!

Grabbed dinner later that night and this girl couldn't hang! :)
Saturday night was super low key, full of movies, parade candy and popcorn. And bed.

On Sunday we woke up and grabbed doughnuts. Sophia pulled my leg and opened an early present from a friend that can't be at her party and wanted to play with everything right away. So, we had a little spa action and the girls had a blast. We played some games, ate lunch and took naps. After naps, we ran a few errands and started thinking about next weekend. We have decided to paint our downstairs bathroom so we did a quick trip to Lowe's to pick out some paint swatches.

SPA DAY!! THANKS ASHLEY AND NOLAN!

Sophia has started to take a big interest in Legos and my mom was cleaning out some stuff at her house and brought over this soccer Lego set. So my living room coffee table turned into Lego central...

We're (I) thinking of the middle color.. any thoughts? We're going for an aqua color. Something light and fun for the downstairs bathroom.

Sunday night has been just as low key as the rest of the weekend, WM and I are watching Big Brother and I'm working on blogging!

This week should be pretty low key as I am still getting adjusted to my new job. Hopefully we can get to the pool this week and enjoy the HOT the weather! Have a great week all and I'll see you back here on Wednesday!
