Weekend Recap: Pumpkin Patch Edition

We had such a great weekend, I couldn't let it go undocumented- and because I was definitely on the verge of over doing it on Instagram! =)

Friday Favorites: Fall Fashion

Hey friends and FRIDAY! Lately, my internet searches have been all things home. And while I love me some good home decor, I've been missing out on the cozy Fall clothing that is happening right now. I thought I'd put together a quick post with my FAVORITE finds so far! As always, I'm linking up with Andrea at Momfessionals!

This weekend, we have family in town and will be working on unpacking and organizing our garage (we still can't park in it) and the basement. I can't wait to set up the girls playroom- I have some fun ideas for an arts/craft area that I can't wait to show you! We also are giving our deck some TLC by painting it with BEHR- Deckover and I also can't wait to show you the before and after's! Now, back to the fashion guys!

THIS COAT from Anthropologie

I mean, I just can't even with this coat. Seriously adorable. But is it adorable enough to drop 300 bucks for? It's gotta go on sale sometime, right?! =) There are only 3 reviews and they aren't great either but still too adorable, am I right?!

I'm loving all the boots right now. Especially these.

I also like these but they're at a higher price point

These boots are calling my name too...

This scarf is in my cart, ready to go!

I love Lush shirts and this one is no exception

It's definitely a throw on and go piece- adding a little something in the front but then hangs low in the back, which I love.

This just looks so comfy.

I've talked about these pants before but I'm loving this color for Fall especially! I'm liking the winter spruce color too!

I've been eyeing a vest like this for a few seasons now and just haven't pulled the trigger. This year, might be the year I do!

So, those are just some of my FAVORITE finds so far! What have you added to your closet since the Fall season has begun!? Please share!

Happy Friday y'all!

Weekend Recap and November Goals

How many things can I squeeze into just one post?! That's how I feel anyway as I'm trying to put this post together. I have so many updates- Sophia's school play, pumpkin carving/painting, Halloween night, and a new month!

First things first:
Sophia's school play. Nothing melts my heart more than seeing this girl at school. We've overcome some obstacles and there are some days that we are still trying to hurdle over them but overall, Sophia's transition to Kindergarten has been great. It's all worth it seeing this smiling face, singing and dancing with her teachers and friends.

Because us Scholteses like to be busier than busy- we headed to Jordan Creek Thursday night and had dinner. Major mom fail- it was Trick or Treat there and I had no idea! So- a little extra bonus, the girls got some candy even though they didn't have costumes. After dinner, we headed home and carved/painted pumpkins! The girls have an absolute blast and this year we even broke out the glitter! You all know how glitter clean up goes- I am still finding rogue pieces today.

Friday night was Beggar's Night in our town. It took a few houses before both girls got the hang of it. They caught on pretty quickly that when we say, "Trick or Treat!" you get a piece of candy. #aintnofools

Our local fire department comes to our neighborhood every year and hands out candy too!

We ended the night with pizza, of course.

Saturday was rainy and cold. We started the morning off pretty lazily and then ran a few errands. We all spent quiet time in the basement, watching movies. It was pretty blissful. After we all came to, we decided to head to the mall and let the girls run off some steam. We picked up a few things and then decided to treat the girls and let them go to Build-A-Bear. It was fun until Saidey decided SHE wanted to type the information on the computer and did NOT need mommy's help. If I even so much as attempted to push a key on the keyboard or help in anyway, a fit ensued. All was better after the nice employee offered a cool sticker.

Do any of your kids do this? The moment she heard Will and I discussing that we wanted to sell this train set, it was the FIRST thing she wanted to play with. Imagine that!

I love coloring! I can't wait to start!

Sunday was BEAUTIFUL out and the girls got outside a few times and ran around with Odin. Will and I worked on cleaning the carpets and cleaning up around the house a little. I'm not sure what it says about me that seeing the fresh, clean carpet lines made me giddy but hey, whatever keeps you going, #amiright?!

The girls and I made some cookies from the new American Girl cookbook. They each got their own spatulas and despite cocoa powder and flour flying out of the bowl, the cookies came out delicious and it was a fun activity for us to do together.

With clean carpets, laundry folded AND put away, and full bellies of spaghetti and chocolate whoopie pie cookies, I'd say we had a successful weekend!

And now for my November goals! I realize this is format isn't as exciting as previous month's goals but I also know that's it's waaay easier to read this way! You can check out my other month's goals here, herehere, and here.

1. Eye appointment/haircut (scheduled for THIS Friday!)
2.) Arrange a play date for Sophia
3.) Start Christmas lists/shopping!!
4.) Finish my blog post about gratitude
5.) Brainstorm new blog post ideas

And that's it! Here's to a great, new month and new beginnings!

Fall Bucket List

Happy hump day, all! It's October 7th already and I'm late on getting my October goals set. September seemed to fly by and October was here before I knew it.

Remember, guys? Your not being able to read it was all part of the plan! (insert winky emoji here). BUT truly and honestly, I did really good in September! I finished TWO books, found a pair of boots, figured out Halloween costumes (now to get them put together), and ordered books. The ONLY thing I did not accomplish was make an eye appointment. That's going on the October to do list now... All in all, a great month!

October brings so much nostalgia and for a while I couldn't quite figure out why. Of course, Fall is my favorite time of the year but I think for me, October and Fall brings back so many memories, that makes it an absolute favorite. When I was younger, my grandparents owned an apple orchard, Cumming Orchard in Cumming, Iowa. I grew up spending time at the orchard- I remember helping sort apples, make apple cider and then the fall festivals- that's what it was all about! Face painting, feeding animals, hay rack rides, eating apple crisp, helping scoop ice cream. I can just smell and taste the memories. I'm sad that I don't seem to have any pics of this time, so any family members reading this- if you have any of the apple orchard, send them my way please!!

When I had kids, I knew I wanted to create holiday traditions and make Fall just as meaningful for them as it was for me. When October rolls around, the fun traditions begin! Check out out our Fall Bucket List- we try to hit as many of these activities as possible each year!

The pumpkin patch

Night Eyes
Our local zoo, Blank Park Zoo, has an annual event called Night Eyes where you get to trick and treat your way through the zoo. Super fun that our whole family enjoys!

Trick or Treating around the neighborhood/Halloween Costumes

Carving pumpkins
Ok, so in our house, we paint pumpkins too. This year, I think we'll throw in some glitter too! :)

There you have it! Our Fall bucket list! Tell me, what are YOUR favorite Fall traditions?! Share in the comments below!
